The Task:

You will need to research one of the historical Californians on this webpage and create a poster documenting that Californian.

The Requirements:

You will need the following items on your poster:

	A photo or photos (no more than three) of your topic
	A bulleted list of the major contributions that the person made toward California or the things done that make the person or group of people famous in our history-these will be written as sentences
	A quote that you make up that could have actually been said by the person or group
	A title needs to be made that gives the name of the person or group you have researched

How to do this poster:

	You may use any reference source you would like: your social studies book is a GREAT starting point as is the older social studies book. You may also use the Internet to find your information and images.
	Type your information, the contributions and the quote, and print it out
	Download the image(s) you wish to use and print them out.
	Put your information on the poster sized paper. You may put backgrounds on the information if you wish.
	Create a title of the person's name as large as you can and put that on the poster.
	You may make your paper look old if you wish. Ways to do that will be discussed. You need to be careful as you might not be able to make the printed material look old. Think about this step.

The Scoring:

	You will be scored on the accuracy of your information.
	You will be scored on how much information you have about your topic.
	You will be scored on the quote you make up.
	You will be scored on the quality of the graphic(s) you use.
	You will be scored on the spelling and conventions of your poster.
	You will be scored on the appearance of your poster.
