Action verbs for active people!
Words that add action to a
sentence are called action verbs. These verbs tell about action
you can see (for example: run, hit, jump, laugh) and about action
you cannot see (for example: like, think, believe). Set your timer
for one minute. Then underline the action verbs in the sentences
below.
1. Martin Luther King Jr.
dreamed of freedom for all people.
2. Thomas Jefferson wrote
the Declaration of Independence.
3. Albert Einstein thought
too much in class.
4. Mark Twain worked on a
riverboat on the Mississippi River.
